Paroxysmal atrial tachycardia is not a heart disease, but rather an uncomfortable condition that affects the upper chambers of the heart and makes it start and stop beating abruptly. The rapid heartbeat causes such symptoms as lightheadedness, chest pain, sweating, and shortness of breath. The main symptom of this disorder is palpitations, or enhanced awareness of your heartbeat. You suddenly become aware of your rapid heartbeats, and you may become anxious. Some people who have paroxysmal tachycardia say it is accompanied by a false sensation of impending death. Additional symptoms of the disorder may include breathlessness, fainting spells, chest pain, and abnormally frequent urination.

Complaints such as lightheadedness, dizziness, quivering, shortness of breath, chest discomfort, heart fluttering or pounding, and forceful or painful extra beats are commonly reported with a variety of arrhythmias. Beats are generated by electrical impulses in the atria (top chambers of the heart) and are then conducted to the ventricles, where they produce the powerful muscle contraction that pumps blood.

Medicated oils and Ghrutas (Ghee) like Maha-Narayan-Oil, Maha-Mash-Oil, Saindhav-Oil, Laxadi-Oil, Shata-Dhout -Ghruta, Panch-Tikta-Ghruta, Dashmool-Ghruta, Ashwagandha-Ghruta, Arjuna-Ghruta and Arjuna-Ksheer-Pak are used internally and for local application on the chest, combined with mild, local fomentation. These procedures can be highly useful in the treatment of VT; however, caution needs to be exercised in patients with a deranged cholesterol and lipid profile, as well as those with a history of coronary artery disease or unstable blood pressure.
