Traveling to Spain can be a very interesting experience. Visitors are always very waited in this country and it has to offer something to almost anyone. You should know some facts about the country before going for a trip to Spain. In this article we will look through some basic facts about Spain that visitors should know.

Guernica (1937) is possibly the most famous war painting of Picasso. Guernica is a place in Spain which was devastated by German bombing. The dark and somber mood of this painting reflects Picasso's attitude to war and depicts its brutal and inhuman nature. This painting was in the Museum of Modern Art in New York till 1981 when it was returned to Spain. In fact Picasso rued about the absence of democracy in his native country Spain and instructed that Guernica be kept out of Spain till return of democracy to that country.

Chile remains one of Latin America's richest nations. In 2009, the South American nation was ranked 37th out of 178 countries and dependencies in the UN' s Human Development Index, ahead of Costa Rica (47th), Venezuela (75th), and Peru (79th). In 2006, Chile finished 38th, followed by Bahrain, Estonia, Lithuania, Slovakia and Uruguay. Thanks to this, it has one of Latin America's largest well-educated workforces.

The Pyramids of Egypt, unique among world wonders, are the only surviving ancient Wonder. But there's more! This treasure, of course, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well. Each year, millions of visitors, from Brazil and Japan to New York and Finland, came to see this symbol of Egypt around the world. The Pyramids were designed between c 2700 and 2500 BC.
