The most common symptom is difficulty in urination. This difficulty may include pain, failure to sustain a steady urine flow, increase in urinary frequency and similar problems. Normally, this is the first symptom to appear since the growth a prostate tumor presses against the bladder, which is superior to the prostate gland.

Screening means testing for cancer before you have any symptoms. A screening test can often help find cancer at an early stage. Prostate cancer symptoms are the key to determining if one has a possibility of developing prostate cancer. With early self-diagnosis, one can make a detour away from the deadly route of cancer. Urinary difficulties and incontinence are characteristic of early stage cancer symptoms. Men often experience frequent urination, although the amount of urine passed may be quite small.

One of the main symptom is the excessive frequency of urination. The patient will be having the urge of urination frequently, especially at night. While urinating, the patient may feel tingling sensation and pain. Another symptom is that the patient will find it difficult in controlling and releasing the urine. This happens mainly due to the tumor mass, which affects the urethra.
