It's frightening how many of us repeat the same mistakes over and over. It's like we carry some kind of internal 'relationships' template and we try and apply that same pattern of behaviour every time we are in an intimate relationship. When forming fresh relationships after divorce, throw out the inner template. Clearly it didn't work for you last time. Why repeat the same things? Come at your new relationships with nothing but a desire to discover new ways of being together in love.

Next, do something- Fill yourself with positive energy and rejuvenate. Time with loved ones, eating well, and restful sleep is a must. Do something just for you. Take time to grow by signing up for a course, pick up your camera again, join a gym or start a project you have put on hold. Remember to infuse fun into your life and sprinkle in lots of laughter and smiles too.

Be honest with yourself and the people close to you. Your new partner has a right to know about your past and where you stand. Trying to keep a failed marriage "hushed up" only gives the impression that you are untrustworthy and have something to hide. Instead, let your partner know about your legal and emotional obligations to your previous marriage, but tell him or her that you are committed to your current relationship.

Only you can choose how you will feel and how you will react to your situation. No matter how hard it may seem, you can easily turn your perspective around and begin to see the new opportunities that are there for you. You may be free to now find that person that would suit you much better than your last partner.

For some people a rebound relationship is just what they need (as long as they are aware that is what it is). A fun, 'no ties' relationship which will help to reassure them they are attractive and fun to be with while not committing themselves to settling down again. As long as both parties are aware this is all it is no one gets hurt. A rebound relationship can be great fun, you get to experience new things and feel good about yourself. However, if only one of you is aware it is a 'fling' some one can get hurt and that's not fair.

There are many ways that you can find a person to go out on a date with and many people are turning to the Internet because they have specific dating sites for people who have gone through a divorce. This does not mean of course that you will find your true love that in the beginning this can be a great way for you to start going out again. You will at least have something in common with the person you're going out with and this can help to have an open line of communication between both of you.

The biggest danger with a rebound relationship is that the other person could be under the impression that you are serious about a future with them. If you have just gone through a divorce, chances are high that it's going to be some time before you resolve your lingering emotions and issues from that relationship, and find yourself ready for another serious commitment.
