Apple juice: Apple juice is recommended for blepharitis-infection of the eyelids-which may be associated with conjunctivitis or come on its own accord. Peel off a two inch slice of apple, bend in half with the skin sides together till the juice appears, then press on the eye lids gently. The redness goes and so does the pus - not completely but it is kept in check if done several times a day. This is one of my best home remedies for conjunctivitis.
If you're planning to swab or bathe the eye, then use something small, soft, and disposable. A make-up removal pad is ideal, or a small wad of cotton wool. Wipe the eye gently, in an outward motion (i.e. from the nose to the ear). Try not to use the same part of the swab twice.
Colloidal silver has been found to be very effective also when used as eye drops so get your hands on some of this at your local natural health store. There are some oils that have also proven effective in helping the body to heal itself of conjunctivitis. Some of these are chamomile, lavender and rose oils. Apply a few times each day. I've also read of the benefits of putting tea bags on your eyes as tea contains a substance called tannic acid that reduces the itching associated with conjunctivitis.
An effective home remedy for treating conjunctivitis is the mixture of Indian gooseberry and honey. Take a cup of gooseberry juice mixed with two tea spoons of honey and take it after mixing it properly. For treating conjunctivitis in a proper way drink this mixture at least twice a day.
Health comes from common sense and natural food. Herbal treatments and alternative health are growing in popularity as more and more people discover what they have to offer. The living proof is that our ancestors-with the help of these cures-lived a happier, healthier, and longer life than the present generation. The aim of a human being should be to understand the rules of good health and to obey them, so that he does not have to depend on doctors burden his life with medicines. The first necessity for good health is pure air. The third necessity of good health is food and water.
Colloidal Silver -- You can buy colloidal silver in a spray bottle. Spray into your eyes two to three times a day. You can also put one or two drops of colloidal silver in your eyes two or three times a day if you can't find a spray bottle. Colloidal silver has been known to cure pink eye as quickly as six hours. Be sure to use a few days after healing to be safe.
The best way solution for pink eye is to avoid catching and spreading it. Pink eye is very contagious, so it's sound advice to avoid infected persons, and avoid everyone if you have it yourself. Hand washing is mandatory. Make it a goal to wash your hands hourly if you feel you're at risk, such as is the case when caring for an infected person or when you have a cold. Disinfecting commonly used surfaces and washing your bedding thoroughly will help, but there are other precautions you can take, which I'll describe below.
